- Show of the Year will go to a non-anime for a record-breaking fifth straight year. Only three anime showed up in the Year-End Top 10.
- Twenty-eight different shows led the T-10 chart this year, matching 2019’s total.
- Thirty-two shows debuted, an 11% dip vs. last year and the fewest since 2016.
- Eight (25%) were No. 1 debuts: Enchantimals (Feb. 29), Seton Academy: Join the Pack! (Mar. 21), Hakumei and Mikochi (May 9), Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj (Jun. 13), The Helpful Fox Senko-san (Jun. 27), Monster Girl Doctor (Aug. 15), Heidi (Sept. 5), and Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear (Nov. 21). That matches 2016’s number.

- The big news story in Top 25 Shows in 2020 was the beginning of the grossing bust. Despite the fact the annual average grossing amount reached another record in 2019, the grossing bust had actually begun back in July of that year when the weekly moving average reached record highs during the previous month.
- The bust picked up steam in 2020, appearing to have reached its peak in October. The average annual gross was 354.93 million grosses, the lowest amount since 2011 and a significant drop-off from 2019’s record of 420.83 million.
#1 - Enchantimals
- Enchantimals is the 2020 Top 25 Shows Show of the Year.

- It led the Annual Gross Races chart for 31 consecutive weeks from May 23 to the end of the year. That is the most weeks a show has led the AGR chart since DC Super Hero Girls led for 39 weeks in 2018.
- The show grossed 14.66 billion grosses in 2020, the least amount grossed on an annual basis in a decade.
